Las Vegas

The high-speed boulevards of Las Vegas are a challenging environment for transit, but transit demand is also off the charts.  The core of the citywide market is the Resort Corridor, encompassing the Las Vegas Strip and downtown, where key lines run at a profit.

In 2014, Jarrett Walker + Associates was retained to provide a range of transit planning and policy advice to the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Southern Nevada, which operates the entire Las Vegas area transit network. In this capacity, JWA conducted in-depth reliability analyses on the agency’s Resort Corridor, also known as the Las Vegas Strip, to identify how changes to routing, scheduling, and dispatching could improve speed and reliability on the agency’s busiest services.
