In 2013 and 2014, as a subcontractor to Stantec, JWA was engaged in a re-evaluation of Edmonton’s transit network.
JWA’s role was to analyze the Edmonton transit network’s productivity and structure, the City’s adopted goals and policies related to transit and growth, and then to map the conflicts among them and the gaps between them.
In January of 2014, JWA presented its findings and led a workshop for the Edmonton City Council. JWA led two workshops with Council and staff on new policies that give clearer direction to all planners in the city.
JWA also led the development of four conceptual scenarios for Edmonton’s transit network, each responding to different transit and land use policy changes that the Council might choose to make in the future.
