Beginning in 2013, Jarrett Walker + Associates supported Parsons Brinckerhoff in a Strategic Transit Plan for Fresno, California, a metro area of one million people in the agricultural heart of the state. Fresno achieves high transit ridership on a very minimal network.
JWA led all tasks pertaining to bus network design and policy, including stakeholder engagement. JWA also handled City Council presentations and numerous briefings with senior staff and elected officials.
In 2018, FAX implemented the short-term network plan designed by JWA, alongside their first Bus Rapid Transit line.
