In 2017-18, Jarrett Walker + Associates led a Transit Vision process to assess and plan for the short and long-term redesign of the public transit network in Memphis. This was a joint project of Innovate Memphis (a local sustainable transportation advocacy group), the City of Memphis, and the transit agency (MATA).

As a result of the engagement and understanding generated through this process, the City and Shelby County are working together to fund a $30 million implementation of the Short-Term Network by 2022.
